Commedagh summit in snow

Commedagh summit in snow - Black & White
This shot was taken at the summit of Slieve Commedagh in the Mourne mountains during a particularly cold spell in December 2014. Normally strong boots are only needed in the Mournes, however crampons were required to walk over the iced frozen ground this day. Notice the sastrugi, patterns in the snow channelled by strong winds. On the left notice the shelter tower, a welcome reprieve on days like this, and on the right the view to Slieve Bearnagh.
