Knots in flight over Strangford Lough

Knots in flight over Strangford Lough - Nature
What an amazing sight and experience of hundreds of Knot (Calidris canutus) birds in flight formation over Strangford Lough. These wading birds with long bills are attracted to the mudflats in the surrounding area and then take to the skies to give great aeriel displays. Whilst watching a distant flock through binoculars I felt a rush of wind and loud flapping sounds as another flock done a flyby right past me! It was like a train passing close by with the rush of air. An amazing experience! Power of nature!

Dunnock (Prunella modularis) looking curious!
